How Sensible Happens

A Canadian resident of Japan walks into a German event...

And the rest, as they say, is history.

For four (4) long years, I had been looking for a VR creation tool, and met many wonderful, hardworking people along the way. Smart people... very capable. But there was always one issue for me, and that was the online portion of these softare options. They certainly seemed to be easy and covered all requirements, but there was a nagging problem. Although so many schools worldwide are connected to the internet, do the majority of these schools have high-speed, ultra-reliable connectivity that can handle very heavy content pieces, constantly uploading and downloading these behemoths, without fail? This was my doubt, after having been in classrooms in India and Sri Lanka, Germany and Canada... Japan, China, Taiwan, the UK, Dubai, Qatar, Korea, Hong Kong, and elsewhere.

The journey began in 2016.

In a previous company, I worked with many others to help create a very large library of interactive learning modules for education. Having taught for over 25 years at that time, the challenge of bringing real learning into VR was a good one to take up. As a skeptical teacher, I was intriqued by VR, but not convinced. Time in classrooms all over the world changed that.

It's one thing to present educational materials... it's another to make them yourself.

A practical and feasible solution would be needed, and that fateful trip to Germany helped to solidify things. There I found kindred spirits with a technical solution which had taken many years to create, which would one day become MySense-VR. Easy to use, and infinitely fulfilling, being able to create environments to learn, far beyond simple images.

In my experience, every teacher worldwide wants to allow their learners to connect with ideas and learn concepts more efficiently. But teachers would also love to have those same students demonstrate this newly-gained knowledge, in a thoughtful and meaningful way. This is why MySense-VR exists.
